A Landmark Home for the Best in Performing Arts and Special Events!
The Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center is a landmark facility on the campus of UMSL. It was initially built to provide a home for campus events, academic programs and regional arts organizations. The venue houses three separate performance spaces: the Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall with 1,600 seats, the flexible E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater with seating for up to 375, and the open-form Whitaker Hall with seating for up to 250. The Terrace Lobby can also be used for events, hosting up to 350 for a seated dinner.
The modern facility is truly state-of-the-art, with clean lines, a bright palate, and splendid marble floors. The Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater is contrastingly warm in tone, with a wooden floor that rises and lowers based on the need for performance seating or open event space.
The entire facility is so unique and incredibly flexible—you could easily enjoy cocktails in one space, a performance in another and dinner in yet another setting.
The other obvious appeal is that this is not necessarily a mainstream venue. Organizations that have hosted events at this location often find guests thrilled to experience a landmark space that they had yet to visit before.
