For decades Grand and Olive was the center of the metropolitan area for most St. Louisians. Most of the cable cars and streetcars started and ended here, thus many entertainment, religious, medical and civic institutions were developed in close proximity. The Rialto at the Centene Center for Arts and Education still continues a grand tradition of “Grand” entertainment in Grand Center. Dance St. Louis, Jazz at the Bistro and Circus Flora have found a home here – it is a true hub of the arts.
While rich in history, the Rialto has become a newer venue for wedding celebrations and special events. On the outside, the Venice style gothic terra cotta architecture draws people in and on the inside, the enchanted ballroom, glass atrium and rooftop deck ensure guests want to stay.
